Reigate, Surrey, 1st September 2011: Nick Claxson, founder and CEO of The Claxson Group Ltd has announced the appointment of Roy Pluck as Group Managing Director. The announcement of the new position comes at the end of a lengthy search for a candidate with experience to match the Group companies’ broad market requirements.

Roy Pluck said. ‘I’m delighted with the appointment to The Claxson Group and I look forward to the challenge ahead. The Claxson Group companies are well positioned in diverse and established markets such as direct mail fulfilment and data centre design and build, as well as younger and faster moving areas such as enterprise ICT and web development. My role is to help these businesses flourish by supporting individual management teams with strategic direction.’

Nick Claxson said, ‘Roy brings with him a wealth of market knowledge, industry experience and personal contacts spanning the ICT and Marketing fields in which the group operates. I believe that in Roy Pluck, The Claxson Group has recruited an individual who can leverage his many positive attributes to bring new opportunities to the Group and to help me to develop and implement a robust strategy for growth moving forward.’

Roy Pluck started his working life as a Programmer / Analyst on an IBM 370 /145 mainframe computer system. However, it was when he moved into Global Solution Sales and Marketing that his career bloomed. Career highlights include 15 years at Gestetner International Ltd (Progressive Territorial Responsibilities: North America, EMEA, Sub-Indian Continent and Australasia); 10 years with RISO Kagaku Organisation (EMEA) (working extensively in Europe, Middle East and Africa and directly with the parent company in Japan) and 10 years with the Danwood Group (National Sales Development Director for the Graphics and Production Systems Division)

On Sunday 10th July 2011, 300 invited guests were treated to a day of keenly contested Polo on the grounds at Sussex Polo Club, competing for the Comtec Enterprises annual charity Cup in aid of ‘The Children’s Trust’ Tadworth. The main match of the day was played at a blistering pace and saw the Red Tigers take away the lead, defeating Comtec’s team 8-6.

Guests enjoyed an afternoon of polo with access to various hospitality tents whilst the youngsters were kept busy on the bouncy castle and inflatable assault course. During the afternoon, the lucky winners of the prize draw and the silent auction lot winners were announced. Prizes of which were donated by a number of generous suppliers including Avaya, Mimecast, Avnet, Barracuda, Brocade and Exclusive Networks who also displayed their portfolio of products and solutions with an abundance of giveaways in the Comtec tent alongside the group of businesses under the Claxson Group.

The day raised over £2,000 in support of ‘The Children’s Trust’ who are a national charity providing care, education and therapy for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs. The care given by the charity comes at a cost and is not fully met from statutory sources so they rely on voluntary income to meet the full cost. For example new buildings and equipment, leisure activities for the children, maintaining the sensory gardens and nature trail in the grounds, the support offered to families and the cost of recruiting and training the volunteers are all funded through voluntary donations. This is why Comtec believe the support of events such as these are so important.

DP has boosted its investment by installing new equipment.  One such machine includes the state of the art Konica Minolta C8000, a high-speed colour digital production system representing a breakthrough for colour image quality and stability on long print runs. This will run alongside the Konica Minolta 1200 mono production print system, offering customers outstanding image quality and a comprehensive range of modular finishing options.

To fully enhance this digital print environment these machines have been coupled with the industry-leading production solution EFI MicroPress. This software optimises the entire print production system by combining multiple devices and centrally managing workloads.

Continued support has allowed the club to now run 15 mini teams and has 300 members with coaching at all the 11 age groups provided by volunteers. Basingstoke are one of the few Hampshire clubs to receive the RFU coaching seal of approval for best practise coaching standards. The set-up has achieved success on a local and national level.

St Marys Pre-school (www.southholmwoodpreschool.org.uk) has seen a ongoing improvement in take up during the last 18 months and has undergone a building and facilities refit. The group will continue to support the pre-school over the next year and is currently providing ICT equipment though its company Comtec Enterprises Ltd.
